1st TSC and Marines airdrop medical supplies, food to forward personnel

March 11, 2021 — Soldiers with the 1st Theater Sustainment Command's operational command post, or 1st TSC-OCP, headquartered here, successfully executed joint airdrop missions with a Marine C-130J Hercules aircrew and Army riggers in the U.S. Central Command's area of operations. MORE
Army Spc. Christian Ramos, 151th Quartermaster Detachment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, serves as team leader for the air drop system, equipment and repair section. Once pallets are loaded on the aircraft, Ramos and the other riggers use strings and rubber bands to attach parachutes to static lines on both the left and right sides of the aircraft.

The Army’s Funded Legal Education Program provides new opportunity for 1st TSC commissioned officer

March 8, 2021 — With clear skies and the sun shining, a commissioned officer from DeWitt, Michigan, stood tall as his infantry branch insignia was removed and replaced with his new Judge Advocate General insignia. Army Reserve Soldiers deployed to Camp Arifjan reflect on Black History Month

March 1, 2021 — Army Reserve Soldiers deployed here shared their thoughts about Black History Month and Black culture in America. MORE
Army Lt. Clifford Allen of Chicago, Illinois, is one of the fire fighters of the all-black 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion. He wears his complete outfit just before taking off for a jump. Note the 150 ft. rope descending from tall trees; the plastic helmet and catcher’s mask are protections against branches and brambles. Known as the Triple Nickles, the 555th completed 1200 jumps from July-October 1945 in support of the U.S. Forest Service efforts to contain forest fires in the northwest United States. The smokejumpers parachuted into regions difficult for firefighters to reach and helped contain 36 fires during this time.

February 22, 2021 — Military and civilian medical professionals deployed here received their second dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, all part of the initial vaccinations in the Middle East theater. MORE

Army Reserve officers march 50 miles to honor Teddy Roosevelt, JFK for Presidents Day

February 18, 2021 — Two Army Reserve officers deployed here with the 310th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) marched 50 miles in a Presidents Day homage to presidents Theodore Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy. Lt. Col. Shane Cater, chief of the administrative law, contract and financial section, said he and Maj. Kyle “Dutch” Dietrich, a trial lawyer in the staff judge advocate section, began early Sunday morning and completed 41 miles before stopping until Monday morning. MORE

310th ESC CG looks back on successful mobilization to Kuwait under COVID-19 protocols

February 10, 2021 — The commanding general of the 310th Expeditionary Sustainment Command said it was a tremendous challenge to successfully mobilize and deploy his Army Reserve unit here under a strict COVID-19 environment. MORE
Commanding General of the 310th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) Brig. Gen. Justin Swanson said he is convinced from his experience mobilizing the 310th ESC to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait under COVID-19 conditions was that many of the COVID-19 mitigations will continue after the pandemic has passed. Swanson first enlisted in the Louisiana National Guard and served there as a combat medic before he was commissioned in 1993.
