First Team Soldiers participate in winter safety training

November 2, 2021 — FORT KNOX, Ky. -- Soldiers from 1st Theater Sustainment Command finished off the month of October with winter and holiday season safety training designed to remind them of hazards they might encounter during the winter months here. On Oct. 29, small groups of Soldiers and Civilians moved through five separate training stations throughout the morning and finished with a barbeque lunch provided by the 1st TSC’s Special Troops Battalion. October 28, 2021 — Two financial management technicians deployed here with the Kaiserslautern, Germany, based 266th Finance Support Center have overcome their fears about the Army Combat Fitness Test through dedicated training in their personal time. MORE

Supitcha Wiriyaskunpan, a financial management technician deployed with the Kaiserslautern, Germany, based 266th Finance Support Center, completes a leg tuck at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, on Oct. 23, 2021. The Bangkok, Thailand, native has gone from not being able to complete one leg tuck to performing ten leg tucks in a row thanks to taking it upon herself to incorporate CrossFit into her routine five days a week during her personal time.

1st TSC Soldier crowned Ms. Kentucky 2022

October 27, 2021 — A Soldier serving in the 1st Theater Sustainment Command at Fort Knox, Kentucky, was recently crowned United States of America Ms. Kentucky 2022 at a pageant held Oct. 24 in Tifton, Georgia. Master Sgt. Diana D. Layne, executive assistant for the command sergeant major of the 1st TSC, officially received her crown at the USOA Georgia pageant, because Kentucky did not hold an in-person pageant due to COVID-19 pandemic conditions. 1st Theater Sustainment Command Deputy Commanding Officer Sean P. Davis awarded Chief Warrant Officer 4 Scott O. Harned, 1st TSC (Forward), the Army Commendation Medal with the "C" device for combat conditions at an Oct. 7, 2021, ceremony at 1st TSC's operational command post, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. Davis presented the medal to Harned in recognition of his exceptionally meritorious service during his deployment to Afghanistan from July 28, 2021, to Aug. 30, 2021.

Capt. Joshua D. Dandridge, a logistics officer assigned to the Fort Bragg, North Carolina, based 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command, has been deployed to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, since August supporting the 1st Theater Sustainment Command’s Operational Command Post. “The Army just opened up so many doors that I would have never been able to [go through] had I not been in the military,” he said. “It’s been one door after another, and I keep walking through them.”
