Warsaw Ghetto survivor speaks at Fort Knox Holocaust Days of Remembrance Commemoration

April 20, 2018 — “We will never forget the atrocities, the horror, and the loss of millions of lives as a result of Nazi persecution.” That was the pledge Maj. Gen. Flem B. “Donnie” Walker Jr., commanding general, 1st Theater Sustainment Command (TSC), and the host of the Fort Knox 2018 Days of Remembrance Commemoration, gave April 20 to those who gathered in the Sadowski Center to remember the more than six million men, women, and children who lost their lives in the Holocaust in the 1930s and 40s. 1st TSC Soldier Earns Second Place in Bataan Death March

March 25, 2018 — Today at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, the Bataan Death March is an annual ruck march where participants wear rucksacks loaded with 35 pounds of gear and trek 26.2 miles. On Mar. 25, 2018, almost 200 Soldiers took to the start line to make this grueling journey. MORE

1st SFAB Enters Theater

March 16, 2018 — The 1st Security Forces Assistance Brigade (SFAB) entered the 1st Theater Sustainment Command (TSC) theater gateway at Camp Buehring Feb. 21, deploying into the Central Command Area of Responsibility (CENTCOM AOR). The 1st SFAB transitioned into Afghanistan where they will be training, advising and assisting the Afghan National Defense Security Forces. MORE

Theater Gateway Now Open at Camp Buehring

March 8, 2018 — 1st Theater Sustainment Command (TSC) and the 38th Sustainment Brigade opened Camp Buehring’s Theater Gateway Feb. 21, 2018. Camp Buehring’s gateway was stood up predominantly to streamline the Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB) deployment into Afghanistan, as well as numerous other units deploying and redeploying throughout the Central Command Area of Responsibility. Top Alabama Command Team Visits Troops Overseas

February 25, 2018 — Maj. Gen. Sheryl Gordon, the adjutant general of the Alabama National Guard, and, Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas Grace, senior enlisted advisor for Alabama, visited troops from the state across Kuwait, Feb. 3-5, 2018, as part of the Joint Monthly Access for Reserve Component (JMARC). MORE

1st TSC Mascot Handlers Keep Alive a 118-Year Tradition

January 24, 2018 — The tradition of using a mule as an Army mascot began in 1899 when an officer at the Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot decided the service needed something to counter the Navy goat for the 1899 rivalry game between the two service academies. In the early 1970s, the 1st Corps Support Command (COSCOM), the unit which was re-designated as the 1st TSC in 2006, adopted a mule as its mascot to carry on this tradition. MORE

Soldiers Return Home in Time for Christmas

December 13, 2017 — The 1st TSC deploys its Soldiers into three teams, Red, White and Blue. During the time Red Team deployed, they enhanced ammunition storage capacity, streamlined customs processing, increased force protection, decreased repair time for critical combat systems, and improved transportation contracts, saving millions of dollars.
